How to Hard Reset or Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy Avant MetroPCS Phone

There are two ways to do that. Option one is Factory reset. You can use this method if you’ve access to your phone setting option.

Option two is when you lock yourself out from the phone and cannot get into your phone settings.

This guide will walk you through to hard reset your phone.

Option 1: Factory Reset – How to factory reset a working Galaxy Avant

  1. Back up all data.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll down to ‘USER AND BACKUP,’ then tap Backup and reset.
  5. Select or clear these check boxes as desired:
    • Backup my data
    • Automatic restore
  6. Under ‘PERSONAL DATA,’ tap Factory data reset.
  7. Tap Reset device.
  8. Tap Delete all.
  9. The device shuts down, resets, and then reboots to its original factory settings.

Option 2: Hard Reset – How to factory reset a Galaxy Avant using hardware keys

  1. Back up all data.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the following three at the same time:
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key.
  4. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to hold the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  6. Press the Volume down key until wipe data / factory reset is selected.
  7. Press Power key.
  8. Press the Volume down key until Yes — delete all user data is selected.
  9. Press Power key.
  10. When the master reset is complete, Reboot system now is selected.
  11. Press the Power key.
  12. The device shuts down, resets, and then reboots to its original factory settings.
